"the good place" season two finale

The actress who plays Tahani bragged on social media that no one had managed to guess the premise of season three of The Good Place, so I was kind of bummed when my guess turned out to be right. My enjoyment of this show wanes every time there's a memory wipe; I want to see the characters I love growing into themselves, not performing the same trick over and over again like trained dogs. I'm wondering if the show runners have the same problem Chidi does: They are so unable to decide on a course of action that they just hit reset whenever it's time for a choice, and we see every scenario played out. Is that the joke? I really enjoyed the first season of this show, and I love the characters and the humor, but I'm not confident going forward.

I have had the opposite experience, I love every new premise, every time they shake the etch a sketch is compelling. I think it's telling that I did not particularly like the first season and you did so the show is clearly pinging different things for us.

On the growth idea, I kind of like the way they are growing despite all the memory wipes, it's like a whole human spirit thing.

Oh, interesting! Maybe season three will grow on me. I am super into Chidi/Eleanor, so I'm excited they're already back together.
