What a crock of shit. I really hope your dad talks to your mom and helps you out with this. You should get the money in the CD back so you can actually use it for something that's necessary. Do they understand that you have a limit to what you can have in assets? If she wants you to save up until you can pay for a car outright, then you might go over that asset limit unless you stuff the money under your mattress.
